The next step is to prepare the soil, a mixture of peat moss and topsoil. Peat holds a lot of water so I start by soaking several bags in a 40 gallon trash can. When the mixture is saturated, I shovel it into the planter.
I top the planter off with topsoil and wet it thoroughly.
