Introduction When I lived in San Diego, California, hardly a week would go by without seeing a discarded papasan chair, whether on the street, in dumpsters, or in thrift stores. I had never used a papasan chair, but I admired the simple, strong and lightweight design and I found the structure attractive. My sister had mentioned using a papasan as a hanging planter but I doubted any branch in our yard could support the weight. During this time, my sister and I wanted to plant in an area that was mostly covered with Bermuda grass, which as you may know is extremely vigorous and extremely difficult to dig out. "So how about planting above the lawn?" I thought. Please click on the link below to see how I made our papsan planters.
